Vaughn picked me up from work today for lunch. As I was sitting at my table, I was looking out the window, marveling at how quickly the snow is melting. Right in front of my eyes, a homeless man bent down and picked up a cigarette butt off the ground. He brushed the dirt off of it, lit it and looked at me. I almost threw up.

Oh man! I could never smoke but if I had an addiction that drove me to stick things in my mouth that other people had used and tossed on the ground...well, actually I can't even imagine doing that...EVER.
nett: It was so disgusting - but, as dirty as it was, the cigarette wasn't half as bad as the guy. LOL
Last year, a homeless lady asked me for a cigarette. I gave her one. She put it in her jacket pocket for safe keeping and picked a butt up off the ground, put it in her mouth and asked me for a light. We then shared a hearty laugh together. I gave her another smoke.
kare: ahahahah You made a friend that day - hopefully she didn't follow you home.
That's a very sad sight indeed.
sue: tell me about it - believe me, there's enough money in this town that nobody needs to be homeless and definitely nobody needs to be smoking cigarette butts off the ground. :o(
There are poor people in Fort McMoney... I mean Fort McMurray?
Ewwwww ... Even when I did smoke I dont think I would have ever done that! That is just sad and disgusting.
actually I would have probably went out there and bought him a pack and told him to drop that one. At least I think I would do this for someone. Just to be nice. I remember what it was like not having money and having an addiction. It is a hard thing.
dh: yep - go figure
brandy: maybe these homeless people should do more with their money instead of buying crack.... Sorry - I'm bitter about these things.
I was wondering if the lady that Karen shared her smokes with was wearing one of her toques?????????
YUK!!
